*Theory: 3DS/Wii U eShop will close end of the year - hear me out
I've set it as a THEORY, but I've talked to my friend about it and he said, it'd be a good idea to let you guys know.
I can only speak for Germany/Europe about this - although, I think if they'd close Europe they'd close North American store as well.
So, every month we get 2 discount-rewards for the eShop via MyNintendo. Its always at the 1st and 15th of every month. If either one of those days is a Saturday/Sunday or Holiday they'll postpone it to the next work day and post it around 9 am. Today's Tuesday and there still isn't the second discount reward.
- Alright, delays can happen. So out of boredom I've looked in the news feed off MyNintendo (It'll be in German, but you'll get what I mean):

As you can see in both shots (I've circled it in Red) it always says something like "Hey new discount rewards / new Designs for you!)
In the first shot though, they've stated a expiration date -> End of December (marked in yellow) - which they've never done before.
The last few rewards werent that great of a deal (and Wii U deals disappeared as well a few months ago) although they were some good discounts on good games. But the fact that they seem to skip the 2nd rewards this month and that the thing about the availability till December makes me think.
Maybe they'll close the eShops for them after the end of the year :(So what do you guys think about that?
