I unfortunately have no recording of this happening, as this was my first real playthrough of Sunshine and I didnt realise anything wrong was happening.
Basically, for whatever reason, when I loaded up Shine 1 in Bianco Hills, the hill that spawns at the end after the goop is cleared, was already raised. The balls were spawning at the top of the hill and in the opening cutscene Shadow Mario was glitched into the side of the base (which I thought was weird, but yknow, its an oldish game).
The puddle you're meant to spray was inaccessible, with only part of it peaking out that did nothing when sprayed, so I ignored the weird puddle and continued on the obvious path to the top of the windmill. A pianta asked me if I was "getting ahead of myself" and "didn't I come here for some other reason" which is when I began to realise stuff was getting weird, but I continued on to fight Petey.
Afterwards I went back in to do the next level and the select screen showed I had Shine 2, but not Shine 1. Upon loading up Shine 1 again I was greeted with the correct cutscene with no hill and the level played as normal.
Has anyone seen this before? I couldn't find it anywhere on Google/Youtube and am curious to know why and how it happened.
I have no idea how to recreate it since I literally just opened a new save and assumed I had played the game, which people have been doing for over a decade.
