Companies like Nintendo release their old games using an emulator, which is transparent to the end user. However, a few months back, a Nintendo leak allowed coders to “port” SM64 to run natively on Windows, Android, Switch, with significant performance gains, and much easier modding (Widescreen, 60FPS, camera “fix”, HD Textures etc). Why doesn’t Nintendo make such games run natively on their devices, since they have and own the Source Code, and instead make emulators and such?
