Lifelong loyal Nintendo fan upset with family plan policy on sharing

Like many Nintendo Fanboys, I bought a Switch on Day 1 and love it. I’ve purchased many titles digitally for me and my three kids to enjoy. My daughter just saved up her allowance for her first big purchase ever, a brand new Nintendo Switch Lite of her own. What a cool father daughter moment. But the joy was brought to a grinding halt when I was getting it setup with games.

It turns out, even on an active family subscription, I am unable to install games I OWN onto her console, and have her play them on her login. Even though we are linked in my family account, Nintendo has made the decision to prevent my kids from playing my games on her console. She can only play them under my login. This isn’t an option since the cloud saves get messed up. Come on...what’s the point of a family plan if you can’t share the games in your family?!

We live in the same house. This is absurd to me that Nintendo is sticking it to their customers and expect me to buy multiple digital copies for each Switch? Does anyone else feel this isn’t a good policy? If I had purchased cartridges we’d simply share between us. It kills me explaining the intricacies of this model to my 9 year old. Come one Nintendo. Loosen the grip a little bit, you’ve sold enough units I think you can afford it.
