This is a Nintendo trend habit of shutting down fun stuff. I don't know about you, but I can't help but think if Nintendo went to Steam we wouldn't have to worry about stuff like this. Having Nintendo go to PC Platform and also having console platform support is my suggestion.
I'm not saying we get rid of the consoles and handhelds platforms. Instead lets try to get Nintendo on a track to support both.
Why can't we all ask Nintendo to give Steam a try? We know companies like them want to make money, so lets show them our wallet in the correct directions and everyone could win.
We could all choose three Nintendo games we want to see on Steam on said conditions. (This idea might need adjustments)
- The PC Port in no way should be a low effort crap port if ppl want to spend money on it. It also needs to be on Steam. (Steam has family sharing)
- The game will only be released if enough people pooled in enough money for Nintendo in order to "preorder" (idk what to call besides preorder, maybe kickstart?) the said games.
- If Nintendo doesn't get the required funds, the PC version port will be canceled and pulled from Steam. (Probably no refunds or Nintendo might not want to even try this)

This could have lots of pros (and cons I can't atm think of). Nintendo
Any other ideas, adjustments I could use, and other input andor insight?
Thanks.
Edit: Well I tried to make a solution of some sort. I for one would love to be in a reality where I can sit on the couch being able to play Nintendo on PC andor a console whenever and never have to worry about digital games I bought unable to update and fix because Nintendo shut down its support for those items. We can never have any chance at that if people don't even try to see if that reality is even possible. One voice to try to have both parties benefit does nothing. Enough people asked for " Szechuan sauce" from Mcdonalds and Mcdonalds notice. Why can't games be the same? At least I can say I tried making a solution that was trying to be productive and no violet intent at all.
peace.
